To quote you, "40 years of Democrat Party Rule/Socialism in New Orleans was proven to be a wrong headed idea." I can only take that you suggest that Katrina would not have been so bad had a different political party been in New Orleans. If you believe it is "quite evident," then please explain what is going on in my head when I read it.
That being said, I saw the suffering. I saw the home videos. I have heard the national radio programs. I have read news reports. I have read LJ journals about it. I have reviewed the American Red Cross response. I have read, watched, considered, the whole situation.
I have even heard claims that the storm hit because the people in that area are poor, black, homosexual, and the like. I have also heard claims that the government, including President Bush, didn't take an interest soon enough because of the "value" of the people involved.
I also read that you placed a certain economic value of about 2 cents to each person.
There are so many dead people that it will be years, if ever, before the identity of the people killed will be known. We have children searching for parents, and vice versa. If my child were to come up missing, I would call the police, not the American Red Cross, but maybe I should rethink who to call after seeing what happened.
Yes, I did listen. Yes, I did read. Yes, I did watch.
