I wouldn't move towards thumbnails, but I would group your photos better, with all but one in a group behind the cut. ie, a post with two dog photos promptly followed by another post with three dog photos would be better as one post of five dog photos.

Not that it'd make much difference in my case as I always look behind the cut at your photos...
