a. It seems in english one doesn't say "it's called ..." about a written sign but "it reads ...". Which is completely stupid since it's not the sign that reads, it's actually the reader, but oh well.
b. To denote something is of crappy quality, the french idiom is "en carton" (paperboard) instead of "en papier", so that ugly dog would rather be, un tigre en carton :)
