this is from 'the fathers' daughters', a short story, but i've read most of her books. she's one of my favourite writers. but otherwise, i'm not a well-read person, especially in english literature :) i know very little about teresa, but this thing i just read is pretty shocking, isn't it:
Teresa also campaigned against divorce, which she understood to be an immoral abomination in accordance with the teaching of her faith, insisting it should be made illegal; she organized an unsuccessful campaign to keep the Irish ban on divorce in 1996.
