misha the bear?? well, misha is a sort of a generic name for bears in Russia, so in fact misha the bear means simply 'bear' or 'russian bear'

That was his name "Misha" the magazine was for kids and it came with different stories. The magazine was done in Moscow. I think you are too young to remember that. I haven't been able to find anything related to Misha in google, only that he was the mascot in the 1980 russian olympic games.
