Oh it seems to me it is the best in this category according to various sources (dpreview.com (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond70/) is a great site for camera reviews, they have merciless benchmarks)
The Canon EOS300D has lots of fan but is slightly older and inferior, when the Canon EOS20D is more recent and a bit superior, but 50% more expensive.
The dilemna is a camera or a leather couch um.. life is hard sometimes =)
