i don't think the wood is treated in any way, but there is a house in a nearby village that is said to be from the 19th c. and is still in great shape.
the leaky homes crisis shook me. if that happened in Russia, everyone would be saying that such a thing could happen in Russia only.
that is, if this leakiness is really something serious and not just a minor inconvenience. might as well be that crises of this scale just pass all but unnoticed in Russia.
