Полезно при фотографировании мелких объектов, детей, людей невысоного роста, приседать на уровень их груди, пояса. Кроп девочки смотрелся бы еще лучше, если бы не девочка на заднем фоне.
Но тональность снимка - супер.

I like that a lot, despite the invasion of public privacy (eh, little girl?).

people have gotten wacked out about photography of minors, especially in the age where, who knows, THEY COULD BE PLACED ON THE INTERNET! Ha, I think it's all kind of strange how all ills are crammed into a generalization.

That's the best example of double-speak I've heard in a while. Public privacy indeed!

It's possibly not as big a topic in NZ, but the internet gets way more bad press here than it deserves, though I think that's just because newspapers and TV see it as a threat to their dominance of the media. (And rightly so;)

I wasn't thinking that just because she's a child - I would've said the same if she was an adult and managed her body-language just as well. (Thoughts need something to trigger them;)

A play on words. The girl looks annoyed about having her photo taken, it sort of being an invasion of privacy, even though she's in public.

And I tend to agree with those who think you shouldn't take close-up photos of strangers without their permission. [livejournal.com profile] alois gets the balance right, I think. See the thread here...

http://www.livejournal.com/users/alois/183218.html

for a discussion on the subject. (A slight warning - you might feel compelled to add a new journal to your friend's list after seeing [livejournal.com profile] alois's work...;)

very nice photos. but they are different, and exactly because permission was asked. it's just different sort of photography

For sure.

An alternative approach would be to ask permission after the photo's been taken. :-) And give the victims your contact details.

Only on behalf of other people. ;-)

But think of the database of interesting people you'd build up over the years - and have on tap as models for future photography sessions.

yeah, but with my hunting approach the database of models is just about infinite!

Ah, but when rich advertising agency looks through your portfolio and says they'd like that person to model their client's product, a just about infinite choice of random models off the street won't be good enough, will it?

(All this assumes you have long-term commercial designs for your photography, as apposed to just poor-artist designs.)

oh well, being ethical must have some advantages after all, i guess

anyway, i doubt [livejournal.com profile] alois is going to travel all the way down to south asia to find that particular vietcong kid his customer would love to put on their dental floss pack

Actually, I think he would. It's called location shooting and goes under "expenses".

you make me feel envious. the only consolation i have now is that even if i were an ethical photographer, there might be no dental floss manufacture in my life anyway. but it's a small consolation

Very nice photo! The expression on the little girl is priceless... it looks like she is saying "see, I stomped that paper thing flat... you gonna do anything about it?"

And yes, there is a lot that is raging over here in the US, I am glad to see it has not infected everywhere else on the planet yet!
