fuck, it never occured to me they might be talking about the amount of coffee left. 'the cofee is fine' -- this one looks especially misleading to me. but i guess you're right. thanks for the explanation!

I understand the frustration.

"the coffee is fine"

You were probably thinking "the coffee is high quality (or tasty)," but fine also means "satisfactory; acceptable; without problem."
