Well, his best work is mostly pretty down, (ie, Berlin (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000637V/102-0218163-5788105?v=glance)), but also good, and less dark, is Songs for Drella (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000002LKS/qid=1133262409/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-0218163-5788105?v=glance&s=music), a collobration with John Cale about the life of Andy Warhol.

PS. Warhol used to carry a little dog around with him, but I'm sure you knew that. ;-)

Warhol - he made POP art and POP movies and was gay and was shot by Valerie Solanas of SCUM fame, which didn't kill him, but he is dead now. The rest is just details. ;-)

Oh, and "Songs for Drella" is on DVD as well as CD, the DVD being a live recording. I'd choose the DVD if I had to choose. The lyrics though, they be free...

damn, damn, damn psychos:

Although the first two rounds missed, her third shot sent a bullet through Warhol's left lung, spleen, stomach, liver, esophagus and right lung. She then shot art critic Mario Amaya and tried also to shoot Warhol's manager Fred Hughes, but her gun jammed. (Solanas reportedly considered Warhol a vampire and spray-painted her bullets silver. She had previously experimented with wrapping them in aluminum foil, but the foil made her gun jam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valerie_Solanas)

i'му seen those ugly monroe and $ pictures of course, but that's about it. i'd like to see one of his films.

The lyrics though, they be free

I just meant you'd have to pay for the DVD. (As I expect you wouldn't bother downloading a pirated version with dialup:)

I've never seen any of his movies, but I expect they're kinda amateur. A Google image search for his name will turn up lots of his pictures...
