How difficult is it to get an "ipoteka" in russia now? what kind of documents do you need to have, what kind of collateral? do you know anybody who bought a house or an apartment using ipoteka?
i know nothing about mortgages, loans and all that stuff, and, being a typical soviet person, i'm scared of them and try to keep away. how did you read 'ipoteka' on that streamer, can you read russian
koneshno, ya rodilsa v Moskve i zhil tam do 14 let. Sorry, i am too lazy to use translit. There were no mortgages there back then, at least as far as I can remember. I think the one who lends money has a reason to scared, not the borrower. I work with mortgages here and just recently found out that it's called ipoteka in russian.
oh my god, it turns out that every other person is a russian, and every other russian is a jew! i know people who payed part of the apartment price in advance, before the house was built, and then the rest, but that's not even close to mortgage. as about mortgages, i think everyone is risking since they won't 'approve your mortgage' (haha, thanks, spam!) except on security of some other property?
isn't mortgage in russia secured by the property your're buying with it? if you don't have money to make the payments, you sell the property and settle the mortgage.
ok, i just have to admit that i don't know anything about it. i know that mortgage market here is full of scammers of all sorts, but it's all hearsay for me.
