when you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble! give a whistle!

that doesn't make any sense, good morning

it's from life of brian, duh.

[identity profile] vriad-lee.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
yes, right, i watched it in russian. but i know, it must be from 'always look on the bright side of life'. btw, why 'on', why not 'at'?

[identity profile] poemtree.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
yes!

and well i can only assume that it's because you shouldn't be away from the bright side where you find that have to look over at it; you should be on it, in it. oh oh, i am smart!

[identity profile] vriad-lee.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
or maybe it's like in 'house looks on the eh... parking lot or a river or something'?

[identity profile] poemtree.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
oh yes, you have a point. except that i am probably right.

[identity profile] vriad-lee.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
but you're supposed to be right in such things, right. you're the native speaker. you can actually come to russia to teach a 'quebec english course' to 17 year old boys and girls, and they all will want to sleep with you (even girls) - i don't know how it works, but that's always like that with foreign tutors in russia, don't ask me why. my nieces used to have a fat bespectacled english teacher from usa, and they loved him (and still do years after), except he never really taught them anything

i probably need to be a college or university graduate.

[identity profile] vriad-lee.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
yes, maybe, but i think it would be easier to get forged ids. who cares, anyway! they would love you even if you didn't teach them anything, and you probably even would

[identity profile] poemtree.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
yes except i don't think that they would let me go to russia to teach an english class without college and/or university papers. i would probably have to go to school to learn how to teach english in another country, lame. now you have me wanting to teach english in russia.

[identity profile] vriad-lee.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
but what about forged id's? you can buy this stuff, i'm sure. or, really, go to school. i could even teach you basic russian, that would be a killer pack! except by the time you master it or by the time you get here the iron curtain might have been drawn already. you know how russia is - unstable!

[identity profile] poemtree.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
i can, yes, but i wouldn't feel like going to prison if i got caught.

i'll find out more information about this, just for fun.

[identity profile] vriad-lee.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
i don't think they send you to prison for buying fake college ids? although in fact i have no idea.

Going from what I've heard from those getting jobs teaching English, you don't really need any qualifications other than being an English speaker. I suspect it's just like teaching children to speak, which is a job for untrained mums and dads.

The real worry seems to be a tendency for the schools to go bankrupt... :-)

Hee - just do a Google for: "teach english in russia"...
