but with her ears laid back like that, I may have been wary as well, if I didn't know her. Not that I do in real life, just here, not that that really counts, but anyway.....
she is a compulsive bag sniffer! when she sees a pedestrian with a shopping bag, especially an old woman, she runs to them and tries to stick her nose in the bag. that might have been her main source of subsistence when she lived in the street. the story is a sad one told many times...
