Um, what matters in the end is that the picture is pleasing and inspiring, no ?
Of course there is this sort of intuitive idea that art should be all natural and flowing. Accidental almost. But well, that's not the way it works (i suppose, for i have no pretention to be an artist, but quite surely painters and sculptors spend hours pre-thinking and planning their realizations).
I don't think it would be fair to say an artpiece has less merit because it was carefully worked on.
