The second photo of the dog lying down really pulled at my heart. When I was growing up one of our neglectful cruel neighbors had a similar dog that they abused and let roam free everywhere... His name was Bingo and he aged badly.... I remember him limping around town and I used to sneak him biscuits.... I hope he's in dog heaven playing with your dog.
these dogs are homeless, they live by subway stations and are fed by local salespeople. if you mean 'dog heaven' literary, i can't quite relate to that, being a hard-boiled evolutionist.
