Russian dogs have a long way to go before they'll catch up with Western Dogs... (http://www.koreus.com/video/chien-danseur.html)

I take it you now have broadband?

But does Russia have dog shows? Of the 'my poodle's better clipped and better trained than your poodle' variety? (Not the dog trial (http://youtube.com/watch?v=M6-nPw0TkGQ) variety.)

You never watch what?

Meanwhile, proper dogs...

As in NZ working dogs - backbone of the economy. Note how they AREN'T lounging around town all day looking for handouts?

Yeah - you should get yourself a huntaway (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pets-animals/Dogs/Dogs/auction-149438548.htm) or heading dog (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pets-animals/Dogs/Dogs/auction-148234611.htm). Pay for their keep while earning you money!

Proper dogs.

PS. Did you get an email from me? (Sent yesterday.)

I doubt the cattle would touch them much, the dogs being too fast and too smart.

Ah - no email yet, but maybe someday...

Sigh - and it's midnight again...

Just been reading up on rheumatism, (thought it was about time I did), and I suspect it's osteoarthritis I have, which they reckon there's not much which can be done about it - which is more or less what I figured. So no point in seeing the doctor about it, which is good.

try homeopathy. in particular, Zeel-T and traumeel helped natasha's mother for joint pain a lot.

The trouble with all treatments designed to reduce the symptoms is you're never sure if they're working or not. When the pain's bad, taking nothing also works, as the pain comes and goes. When bad, you know it'll improve in a day or a week or two. And when there's no pain, you know it's going to come back again eventually.

So the ideal time to start taking any such treatment is when you have no symptoms at all. And stop if they come back, since it's obviously not working.

A quick check show there's completed studies of Zeel which suggest it works, but none yet finished for traumeel.

I'm always skeptical of any treatment requiring ongoing medication. They just seem designed to extract a nice, steady revenue stream out of you...

I did some taxes yesterday, which I've been procrastinating over for a couple of weeks. That seemed to help!

yes, placebo effect et cetera. i would be skeptical about homeopathy if not the many cases in which it clearly seemed to help that i have witnessed, and a few doctors and vets i respect that rely on it.
that being said, the correlation between beliefs and reality is an interesting topic, and i can only imagine how praying to a deity helps to someone who believes in it.
