I miss him like my heart has been torn from my chest. What are the odds?

'What are the odds?' -- what it means it the context?

Удивляется человек сам себе. в смысле, каковы были шансы, что I will miss him like my heart has been torn from my chest?

Тут от контекста зависит. "Waht are the odds?" может также означать "Каковы мои шансы?"
Типа, каковы мои шансы, что что-либо переменится.

т.е. "Кто бы мог подумать"? этот вопрос возник на ru_translate (http://www.livejournal.com/community/ru_translate/4476498.html?style=mine), и там предложили как раз такой вариант, но я почему-то засомневалась

хотя может и нет. Может быть так: кто бы мог подумать (, что он уйдет). Хотелось бы весь абзац.

In other words...

I miss him like my heart has been torn from my chest.

I think it's meant to be sarcastic... like, OF course I miss him!

so, "What are the odds?" = "who might have thought!", right?

I wish I understood Russian so I knew if someone already responded correctly, but "what are the odds" is about how the writer feels that her emotions are unlikely, or "not probable", or just unexpected.

A literal translation would sound pretty funny, no doubt.

My apologies, but the word "blond" is an enlish word, as far as I can tell, and it's way beyond me to try to comprehend what it might mean.

Um, are you blond too ?

Yeah, i know you don't know this word.
But provided you speak as language you don't speak,
you may similarly understand a word you don't understand.

4 bald middleaged jewish fetishists cannot be blond, that's unnatural and plain stupid.

Actually i think all of you are wild dogs,
which would explain a lot of things in this journal.

As far as you're concerned, you're definitely busted,

i don't read russian, so i'm not sure if this has been explained fully yet, but it's a vague reference to gambling. odds are what percentage someone or something is likely win an event or game or something like that.

for instance, if there is a horse race the horse that everyone thinks is going to win has the best odds. the horse that the fewest amount of people think is going to win has the worst odds.

for example 'my horse broke its leg but still won the race. what are the odds?'

'what are the odds' is like saying that an event had small chances of happening. so when someone says "I miss him like my heart has been torn from my chest. What are the odds?," the writer is saying that they are surprised that they feel that way about 'him' because the odds were not great for them to feel that way.
