nyusha found a rather dried, mummified cat head in the street and ran around holding it in her mouth and looking happy. it took some bullying, yelling and kicking to make her drop this, and then she looked genuinely offended. poor doggy!

it used to be dark orange, and then it was painted brown with black streaks. and then the paint wore off and the orange showed through

interesting. It reminds me of a technique intentionally used a lot here in Utah in the late 1800's. "Pioneers", roughing it in the west who came from money back east, lamented their new home because of a paucity of oak. They would paint, by hand, pine, to make it look like oak. I have a bunch of old trunks that were done this way, and that floor reminded me of it.

Also... I'm feeling devastated by the revelation of the full icon. Walking around in a stupor... what a beautiful girl!
