i agree, but i thought that maybe cursive hebrew looked very different. in fact, this doesn't look like anything at all to me

It might be Farsi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Dehkhoda_note.jpg) or some other Middle Eastern language.

yes, someone suggested arabic, but i don't think it looks like farci on the picture you linked to. for one thing, look how many c's there are on the photo and none on that picture
