Well, en face is correct in many situations, like Regarde moi en face, Va lui dire en face, La maison d'en face, but when talking about a model's pose, which is the case here, the proper use is de face, de profil, de dos etc.
i have no idea where that came from then! because it's used for pictures/models exactly, like photo анфас. yes, and if you take away the en, you get фас, which means 'sick', the dog command
